The package was published in the Official Journal of the European Union series L n. 231 of the 30 June 2021 and is yet in force from today.
It contains the regulations governing the structural and investment funds for the 2021/2027 programming period.
These funds represent a value of approximately EUR 330 billion (at 2018 prices) corresponding to almost a third of the long-term budget of the European Union.
The package includes a general legislative act – the regulation containing common provisions – governing the eight funds managed jointly by the Member States and the Commission and various other regulations that define the specific objectives and scope of each fund.
