ETC Day 2013
Again this year, the Italia-Malta 2007-2013 and the Italia-Tunisia Operational Programmes participate in the European Cooperation Day that will be held the next 21 September 2013 in European and neighbourhood territories.
The Sicilian Region, as Managing Authority of both programmes, will organize a bike tour in the territory of the province of Ragusa. Thanks to this initiative, the themes of sustainable tourism, environmental sustainability, valorisation of natural, cultural and food heritage will be promoted. The aim is to make known the activities realized by the projects financed with the funds of the programmes. The event is open to most 100 participants, who will have the possibility to choose two different itineraries: 
1. Barocco tour, from Ragusa to Modica and Scicli, covering a distance of about 24 km - average difficulty. 
2. Carrubi tour, from Ragusa to Donnafugata, covering a distance of about 20 km - low difficulty. 
The Operational Programmes will make available for the participants bikes, helmets and gadgets. 
Stops and guided tours are planned, in order to show the activities developed by the projects.
For the Barocco tour, tourist sites of cultural and natural interest will be visited. Moreover, a guided tour is scheduled in Modica, at chocolate and embroidery workshops, and finally in Scicli.
As regards the Carrubi tour, tourist sites of cultural and natural interest are scheduled, including the castle of Donnafugata. 
At the end of the excursion, the participants of both tours will meet at Ragusa Ibla for a light lunch.
